Welcome to Te Uho o te Nikau Primary School – The Heart of the Nikau.  We are a beautiful primary school located in Flat Bush, Ormiston and part of greater Ōtara.  Established in 2019, Te Uho o te Nikau Primary School is a snapshot of the best and most welcoming part of our incredibly diverse community.  We are a school that thrives on strong, positive relationships – with our tamariki, with our Dream Team staff, and with our warm and supportive families.

Our logo of three nikau palms connected together truly represents ‘the way we roll’ – the learner, the school and the whānau – working together to ensure our children are nourished, grow and thrive.

Our website is just a small part of what captures the heart – te uho – of our wonderful school.  It is designed as a landing point, a place to find information about our school, and a guide to some of the learning and opportunities available within our community.  If you really want to get to know more about us, follow our Facebook page.  It will give you a real feel for our tamariki, their growth, their families and it showcases the fun that is such an important part of primary school life.

I am incredibly proud and humbled to lead our school and community in learning.  Being a Principal allows me the privilege, every day, to connect with the hearts of children and the important people who raise them.  When we have visitors, they often comment on the wairua or welcome feeling they have when they enter our spaces.  I can only smile and nod my head because I know that our school is a very special place with very special connections to our whenua, the people who live here and our iwi, Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki.  If you don’t believe me, come and visit us yourself.

Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Uho o te Nikau Primary School!
